Over the course its 38-year history, Foreigner has become one of the best-selling acts of all time. The band is responsible for some of rock's most enduring anthems like "Feels Like The First Time", "Cold As Ice", "Juke Box Hero", and “Urgent”. Songs that have become staples of classic rock radio.
Foreigner is also known for showing its softer side, with hits like "I Wanna Know What Love Is” and "Waiting For A Girl Like You", both of which reached #1 and #2 respectively on the Billboard singles chart in the early 1980s.
Today, Foreigner continues to release music and tour annually. The band recently completed another successful season of dates as part of The Soundtrack of Summer tour with fellow classic rock alumni Styx and Don Felder. A tour which also included a new album featuring all new re-recordings of the band’s biggest hits.
A regular fixture of the Lehigh Valley, Foreigner will once again return to the area on Friday, Feb. 20 to perform at the Sands Event Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
At Foreigner’s core is founder and guitarist Mick Jones who, despite some recent health concerns, continues to tour with the band. In addition to his lengthy tenure, Jones was recently inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame along with former Foreigner vocalist and songwriting partner Lou Gramm. Gramm, who had been the voice of Foreigner for the better part of 25 years, left the band in 2003 under less than amicable circumstances. However, longtime Foreigner fans will be happy to learn that following their induction, rumors have floated that both Jones and Gramm will soon reunite to write songs for each others upcoming solo albums, both of which expected to surface sometime next year.
The Sands Event Center is located under the shadow of the former Bethlehem Steel facility in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The factory’s history includes building the steel that was used in forging The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and World War II warships.
Foreigner is: Mick Jones (guitar), Kelly Hansen (vocals), Jeff Pilson (bass), Tom Gimbel (guitar, saxophone), Michael Bluestein (keyboards), Chris Frazier (drums) and Bruce Watson (guitar).
