San Diego-based progressive rock band CHON has announced a North American tour this summer in support of their latest LP, HOMEY. The album is slated for release June 16, but the band will be kicking off their tour on June 2 at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles with Tera Melos, CoVet and Little Tybee. The tour will then take CHON and their support acts up the West Coast and through the West and Midwest before hitting Canada, the East Coast and the South. The tour wraps up in Cuauhtémoc, Mexico on July 30. You can find a full list of tour dates below.

CHON—consisting of Mario Camarena (guitar), Nathan Camarena (drums) and Erick Hansel (guitar)—plays mostly instrumental music although they have been known to use vocals on certain songs. Their original bassist, Mario and Nathan’s brother Esiah, left the band in 2013 with CHON using touring bassists since then, sometimes including Esiah who returned for the Sonic Unrest Tour and has continued to play with CHON on occasion. While the band started out in the shred metal vein, they have taken on a more progressive sound that utilizes major keys, making them stand out from many other metal bands.
