The Chicago area is playing host to a ton of must-see performances this week, so why not adjust your after-work plans and catch a show or two? Take a look at these must-see shows for the week of November 16-21 in Chicago.
You may have heard singer and songwriter Lera Lynn in the second season of TV show “True Detective,” and now you can see her on stage in Chicago. As noted on her official Facebook page, Lynn is an “independent post-Americana” musician. She will perform November 17 at Chicago’s Lincoln Hall at 8 p.m., and Dylan Leblanc is also set to perform. Tickets are $15, and you must be 21 and up to get in.
If you’ve ever wanted to spend the evening with Justin Bieber, then you can do literally that on November 18. “An Evening with Justin Bieber to Celebrate The Release of Purpose” starts at 5:30 p.m. at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, and tickets start at $18. The show also includes guest appearances and a question-and-answer session with Bieber.
‘Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Present Circus Xtreme’
The circus is in town, and will be held at United Center in Chicago November 19-29. “Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Present Circus Xtreme” includes stunts and plenty of acts. Heads up: There is no show scheduled on Thanksgiving Day, November 26.
Up-and-coming country quintet Old Dominion is coming to Chicago, and will perform November 19 at 8:15 p.m. at Joe’s Bar in Chicago’s Near North Side. The band, whose hit song “Break Up with Him” burned up the charts this summer, is sharing the stage with opening act Courtney Cole.
Chicago-based musical group Cold Country is celebrating the release of their latest EP in style. The band is performing at The Hideout in Chicago on November 19 at 9 p.m., with Arts & Letters and Ty Maxon also set to perform. Tickets are $10.
If you’re a fan of rap artist Rick Ross, then you’ll want to grab tickets to see the performer on stage at the famed Chicago Theatre on November 20. Ross, whose hits include “Push It” and “The Boss,” performs at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $58.50.
