Celine Dion wrapped up her hugely successful summer tour with a pair of sold-out benefit concerts on Aug. 30- Aug. 31 in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, at  Amphitheatre Cogeco. The five-time Grammy winner dazzled and delighted 18,000 fans over two nights and raised $1,700,000 for charity.

A news release posted Sept. 2 at the official website of Celine Dion reports that all money raised by the Canadian international superstar will benefit the Celine Dion Foundation. The charity was founded by the multi-platinum seller and her late husband Rene Angelil in 1998 to support various organizations that help sick and underprivileged children.

The shows brought an emotional end to "My Heart Will Go On" hitmaker's busy summer tour schedule. The Trois-Rivieres concerts followed multiple shows in her home province of Quebec, including a 5-night stand at Quebec City's Videotron and a 10-night stand at Montreal's Bell Centre.

"I would like to thank each person who attended the show," writes Dion in a press release. " The extreme pleasure with which I performed is matched only by the generosity shown by all those who helped us make these two evenings a success. Their actions will allow us to continue to help many children and their families."

Dion topped the Billboard Hot Tours chart from the outset of her international summer excursion. The Charlemagne, Quebec native began the international tour with a two-night stand June 20 - June 21 in Antwerp, Belgium, at Sportpaleis, followed by nine nights from June 24 - July 9 in Paris at AccordHotel, earning $23.2 million and No. 1 spot.

The tour focused on French-speaking markets in support of Dion's latest album Encore Un Soir (One More Night), which was released on Aug. 26 via Columbia. Propelled by the success of its title track released as a single back in May, the critically acclaimed album has already topped the albums charts in Canada, France, and Belgium.

The Canadian chanteuse is taking a well-deserved breather but will return to the U.S. this fall to continue her latest residency in Las Vegas at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, beginning Sept. 20. Tickets for all Celine Dion shows are available at AXS.
