On March 12, metalheads in the Land of Enchantment must prepare for royalty. On this evening, The Noise unleashes upon the Sunshine Theater the mighty Cannibal Corpse, Obituary, Cryptopsy, and Abysmal Dawn. Doors for this 13+ show open at 7 p.m., with the first band taking the stage at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are only $22 and are available at Hold My Ticket.
Formed in 1988, New York’s Cannibal Corpse plays American death metal. To date, the band has released 13 full-length studio CDs, the latest of which is titled A Skeletal Domain, issued by Metal Blade. This CD featured artwork from Vincent Locke, who has worked on many of the band’s album covers. Regarding the album’s development, bassist Alex Webster on the band’s website notes the following: “At the end of the day, we’re still making a death metal record, no matter where it’s being recorded.” Members of Cannibal Corpse are Alex Webster on bass, Paul Mazurkiewicz on drums, Pat O’Brien and Rob Barrett on guitars, and George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher on vocals.
Formed in 1984, Florida’s Obituary plays death metal. The band’s ninth full-length studio CD is titled Inked in Blood, issued by Relapse Records. The band’s current lineup consists of John Tardy on vocals, Trevor Peres and Kenny Andrews on guitars, Donald Tardy on drums, and Terry Butler on bass. The band’s touring lineup is slightly different.
Canada’s Cryptopsy plays brutal but technical death metal. The band’s latest full-length studio CD is self-titled, issued by Candlelight Records. Members of Cryptopsy are Flo Mounier on drums and vocals, Chris Donaldson on guitar, Matt McGachy on lead vocals, and Olivier Pinard on bass.
California’s Abysmal Dawn plays blackened death metal and thrash metal. The band’s latest full-length studio CD is titled Obsolescence, recorded at Artisan Road Studios and issued by Relapse Records. Members of Abysmal Dawn are Charles Elliott on guitar and vocals, James Coppolino on drums (live), Eliseo Garcia on bass, and Allan Marcus on guitar (live).
