Nahko and Medicine for the People have opened Red Rocks for groups such as Colorado-based jamgrass band The String Cheese Incident. While BoomBox is no stranger to Red Rocks - -they co-headlined last summer with New Orleans funk outfit Galactic -- this will be the first time they top the bill. BoomBox bandleader, DJ, and guitarist Zion Godchaux also has a special family history with the famed venue. His mother and father, singer Donna Jean and keyboardist Keith Godchaux, were members of the Grateful Dead throughout the 1970s and were there for the Dead’s debut at Red Rocks on July 7, 1978.
