Billy Joel to play record-setting Madison Square Garden show

New York's iconic Madison Square Garden has hosted many a big-name act, but none have played the venue consecutively as many times as Billy Joel--the Piano Man is about to set a new record with his 45th consecutive show as part of his monthly residency.

The concert will be his 91st MSG performance overall, a run which includes sold-out performances to excited fans. The record-breaking 45th concert will take place on September 30 and is part of a residency which began in December of 2013 and made him the venue's first music franchise. The concerts have also included some special guests--most recently, actor Kevin Spacey joined Joel for "New York State of Mind."

Joel will also take his show on the road later this year, with tour stops scheduled in Atlanta and Indianapolis.

Fans wanting to catch Joel live should take advantage of the opportunity, as the singer recently said his future plans include less live shows and more time for his personal life.

"I’ve got a new baby now and I’m trying to (free) my time more for having a personal life," Joel said prior to the announcement of the concert. "So I’m looking at less work. It feels like I’m entitled. I’ve been working my whole life. It’s time to slow down."

Looks like he won't be slowing down anytime soon, though. Ticket pre-sales for the record-breaking MSG concert begin Monday, April 24 at 10 a.m., followed by the public on-sale Friday, April 28. Prices range from $65.50 to $129.50.
