St. Patrick's Day, with its parties and green beer, isn't known for being the most family-friendly holiday. That doesn't mean families can't have plenty of fun and do it without spending any money, either. Whether it's kids' activities or fundraisers and benefits, Tampa has some great free events for people of all ages to enjoy and celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
Brave the Shave
March 12 @ 12 p.m.
The Wild Rover Pub & Brewery - 13921 Lynmar Blvd., Tampa, FL, 33626
Celebrate and support a good cause all at once with Brave the Shave, a fundraiser benefitting St. Baldrick's Foundation, which funds research for childhood cancer. Whether you want to brave the shave yourself, assemble a team of shavees, or just hang out, Brave the Shave has plenty to offer the whole family, including live music, silent auctions, face painting and more
St. Puppy's Day
March 12 @ 2 p.m.
The Dubliner Irish Pub - 2307 W. Azeele St., Tampa, FL 33609
Help the Tampa Humane Society and celebrate with the furry members of the family by participating in St. Puppy's Day. The event will include Irish dancers, live music, a pet costume contest, giveaways, corned beef and cabbage and other lunch specials, and, of course, green beer. If you donate a bag of dog food that's seven pounds or larger, you'll get a free Curious Traveler beer.
March 14 @ 8 a.m.
Lucky Dill - 33180 US-19, Palm Harbor, FL 34683
Lucky Dill in nearby Palm Harbor doesn't just limit their part to St. Patrick's Day--they party for a full week, and they make sure that kids are included in the fun. While the seven days of celebration kick off March 13, the following day, March 14, will be Kids' Night, with entertainment from Hula Liz, Irish Ramblers, and Nick Bagpiper, plus Mark the Balloon Guy and cookie decorating. Kids also eat for free.
KidX Sham-Rock & Shake
March 15 @ 10 a.m.
WestShore Plaza - 250 WestShore Plaza, Tampa, FL 33609
Head to WestShore for a morning of activities for the kids, including music. In addition, Darin Koenig from Koenig Martial Arts will teach children basic techniques.

Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park - 600 N Ashley Dr., Tampa, FL 33602
Enjoy Tampa's official St. Patrick's Day party with Mayor's River O'green, which centers around turning the Hillsborough River green for the holiday. The party also includes live music, games, activities for the kids, Irish food from local restaurants, and, of course, beer. And it's not just great for kids--furry family members are welcome, too. If you donate three non-perishable food items, you'll receive a "Saint Patrick's Army" shirt provided by the Salvation Army, while supplies last. Donations will benefit the Salvation Army.
