When the punk rock explosion happened in the seventies, bands like The Ramones led the way stateside while Sex Pistols and The Clash forged ahead in England. A little further north in Belfast, Ireland, Stiff Little Fingers became that country's answer to the punk movement, forming in 1977 at the peak of the Northern Ireland conflict, with songs like "Wasted Life" and "Suspect Device" reflecting that tension. To celebrate their 40th anniversary, Stiff Little Fingers has announced a series of dates in the U.S. starting September 6th in Solana Beach, CA.
With a current line-up that includes original members Jake Burns on lead vocals/guitar and Ali McMordie on bass, with Ian McMallun on guitar and Steve Grantley on drums, fans can expect a good combination of more recent material and classics including "Alternative Ulster."
Tickets for Stiff Little Fingers' 40th anniversary tour are on sale now.
