Beck launched a weeklong tribute on "Conan" to coincide with the recent release of "George Harrison: The Apple Years," a collection of the late musical legend's first six solo albums, produced by Apple Records. The deluxe CD set, also being made available to purchase as individual CDs, contains some of the most well-known and best-selling albums that George Harrison recorded outside of The Beatles as a solo artist.
Beck performed a rendition of the song, "Wah- Wah," off the critically acclaimed "All Things Must Pass" album, released in 1970. To help celebrate some of Harrison's beloved songs the musical line-up will continue this week with performances by Paul Simon on Sept. 23, Harrison's son, Dhani, on Sept. 24, and Norah Jones on Sept. 25. Check out Beck's cover above, safe to say not as poignant as Harrison's original tune, but the versatile artist adds his signature fun and funkadelic spin to it.
Beck will also be lending his talents in a tribute honoring Bob Dylan on Feb. 6, to benefit MusicCares. The tribute concert will also feature, Jack White, Neil Young, the Black Keys, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Willie Nelson, Bonnie Raitt, Eddie Vedder, John Mellencamp, Norah Jones, John Doe, Tom Jones, Los Lobos, and more to be announced.
