Sorry, there are no Celtic Thunder Christmas dates.
With sales surpassing one million combined CD and DVD units and almost half a million show tickets, the entertaining Celtic Thunder pay homage to the musical culture of Ireland with their upcoming North American Fall tour Heritage. In support of their most recent Public Television Special of the same name, the acclaimed show will crisscross the U.S. enthralling fans in 45 cities this Fall. The tour kicks off September 21st in Buffalo and takes the show through the Christmas holiday. The Celtic Thunder Heritage Tour promises to deliver stirring and show-stopping performances in the tradition of their previous releases (Celtic Thunder: The Show, Act Two, Take Me Home, Its Entertainment and Christmas), with Celtic Thunder returning to their distinct Irish roots.
The tour features performances by fan-favorites - each with their own unique stage personas - Damian McGinty, Keith Harkin, Neil Byrne and George Donaldson, along with the newest member of the ensemble, Emmet Cahill. The inspired collection of songs includes Emmet Cahill performing the sweet and tranquil "Kindred Spirits", the toe-tapping ensemble "A Place In The Choir", and Keith Harkins version of the romantic ballad "The Dutchman", and a Keith/Neil duet of the the Thin Lizzy classic "Whiskey In The Jar," to name a few. In addition to these fan favorites, Celtic Thunder will be adding never before seen numbers such as the Gaelic Dualaman, and the nostalgic hit Summer In Dublin, Steve Earles Galway Girl and the Grammy award-winning Everybody's Talking At Me amongst others. After the Thanksgiving holiday, fans will get a chance to hear both Heritage numbers and Celtic Thunders heart-warming interpretations of holiday favorites as part of The Celtic Thunder Christmas Tour. Act I of this show will focus on Celtic and Irish songs from the Heritage show and Act II will be entirely from the Christmas Show. These cherished holiday standards are featured on their Christmas CD (2010) and include Its Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas, Amazing Grace, Most Wonderful Time of The Year and Silent Night as well as a few pop favorites All I Want for Christmas Is You and Last Christmas and some specially written originals, such as Going Home For Christmas and the Christmas Overture.
Since the airing of their first Public Television special in 2008, Celtic Thunder consistently remains one of the most popular musical acts for the network. In addition to their impressive sales stats of selling over one million units combined, their official YouTube channel, Thunder Tube has received nearly 18 million upload views since its inception in 2008. Celtic Thunder had the distinct honor of performing for President Obama at The White Houses St. Patrick's Day celebration in 2009, and they also opened New York City's famed St. Patrick's Day Parade on 5th Avenue two consecutive years in a row (2008 & 2009). In addition to appearing in five hugely successful Public Television specials and their multiple appearances on QVC, Celtic Thunder has also performed on Fox & Friends, Today Show, CBS Early Shows Saturday Second Cup Caf and numerous regional shows in major cities across America. Of their live performances, The Virginian-Pilot noted, no matter what they tackle they do it with beaucoup energy and The New York Times described the group as a Fab Five peddling Celtic stylings.
