Cage Warriors, Europe’s leading MMA show will return to London on Saturday February 18, 2017 with CW80, kicking off what is shaping up to be another spectacular year for the promotion.
Cage Warriors is noted for discovering and nurturing some of the biggest names in MMA today. Renowned as a proving ground for European talent, three of the current UFC champions, Englishman Michael Bisping, Polish star Joanna Jedrzeczyk and the sport’s biggest name Irishman Conor McGregor all honed their skills in CWFC before fighting for the UFC.
On 18 February 2017, Cage Warriors world championship gold will be up for grabs when welterweights, UK veteran Matt Inman (19-8) will face Franco-German, Karl Amoussou (25-7). Amoussou is one of the hottest European welterweights outside the UFC - riding a six-fight win streak with his last five victories coming inside the first round. Inman is coming off the back of a stunning second round submission win over UFC veteran Che Mills at CW Unplugged in November.
Joining them on the card will be the cream of European MMA all looking to make a name for themselves. In addition to a spectacular night of mixed martial arts action, there will be ‘meet and greets’ with former Cage Warriors champs who are now current UFC stars as well as stunning DJ sets to keep the crowd entertained throughout the night.
Casimir Knight, CEO of WDA, owners of Cage Warriors said, “We’re stepping it up a notch next year – not only will we continue to produce stacked and exciting fight cards with the cream of European MMA talent and discover future stars; we also want to create a fantastic night out for our fans. That’s why we’re bringing our warriors into the cool environment of the Indigo at the O2, to create a real MMA party night out for everyone there.”
