Mutlu Biography
Mutlu is a native son of Philadelphia, the "City of Brotherly Love," home of Jill Scott, Amos Lee, The Roots, G. Love and the godfathers of the "Philly Sound," Kenny Gamble & Leon Huff. Mutlu offers up his own personal mix of R&B, Reggae and Hip-Hop. He draws a great deal of inspiration from the "Philly Sound," as well as Marvin Gaye, Bill Withers and Bob Marley. A charismatic artist, who avoids falling into retro-phonic traps through the use of cool grooves and clever lyrics. Manhattan Records caught one of Mutlu's sets during his well-received stint with Amos Lee on Lee's North American and UK tours. This led to the release of his self-titled, 5-song EP produced by Amos Lee (2006) and the upcoming full-length CD recorded by legendary producer, T-Bone Wolk. CD is scheduled for a June 2008 release.
