Sorry, there are no William Topley dates.
William Topley is a British vocalist whose soulful, distinctive sound has, amongst other influences, a bluesy feel that stems from the music of America’s deep south. His evocative lyrics will touch your soul, always inspirational and thought provoking.
His very unique style has been steadily gaining him followers over the years. From the early days of his London based band ‘Just William’ through the heady, alcohol fuelled world tours with The Blessing, followed by another decade or two of solo CD’s and collaborations with some of the best musicians in the business. Throw into the mix countless live performances on both sides of the Atlantic (and the Caribbean!) it’s hardly surprising that he is able to cross so many musical boundaries with ease – Blues, Reggae, Country, Rock, Soul and more, are all in there somewhere, but always with a Topley twist!
It is very real music which endures in a way that never goes out of fashion, and gets better the more you hear it.
The Blessing’s seminal album ‘Prince of the Deep Water (1991) is still prized by many fans as a cornerstone to their record collection, and the band’s second album ’Locusts and Wild Honey’ has often been known to change hands for exorbitant sums of money on Ebay…
One of William’s long-term collaborators, the guitarist/songwriter Dominic Miller, best known for his work with Sting, once said of him “It’s only a matter of time - watch this space!”
