The Outer Vibe came home to play a much anticipated CD release show at the Intersection in Grand Rapids, Michigan on May 29, 2015. Their new CD is titled Full Circle and was available to fans on vinyl or CD at the band's merchandise table. Fans who didn't attend the show can go to iTunes and purchase the album. Desmond Jones, American WiFi and Watching for Foxes opened for the band that evening.
Desmond Jones from East Lansing opened the show with their own brand of rock and funk. The saxophone in this band added to the bands own unique style.
They were followed by American WiFi, a pop rock band from Grand Rapids, Michigan. They won the 2014 ArtPrize for Best Pop/Electronic Artist and had the audience dancing and singing along. "Midnight Air" is a fan favorite. They will be headlining a show at the Pyramid Scheme on Jun 25, 2015.
Watching for Foxes are a folk, rock band from Fremont, Michigan and took the stage right before the Outer Vibe. Until The Winter Comes is their latest EP.
The Outer Vibe is a five piece band from the Grand Rapids area who describes their music as cinematic surf disco. It's hard to put a label on The Outer Vibe's sound. A little bit of rock, pop, punk, disco and jazz all wrapped up into one magnificent package delivered by amazing musicians that leave you feeling good every time you listen to them. Their live shows are not to be missed! The band includes Sean Zee on vocals, Nick Hosford playing lead guitar, Lisa Kacos on Trumpet and keyboards, Andrew Dornoff on bass and Noah Snyder on drums.
The band played a nice mix of older songs and new songs like "Shining Like a Diamond" and "Rose Colored Shades" from Full Circle and even released bubbles into the crowd at one point. They played an old classic song, "In the Middle of the Night" to the cheering crowd. The band did a great job of mixing a few slower songs into the setlist that showcased Sean Zee's amazing vocals paired with Lisa Kaco's trumpet playing. The band also made sure they played fan favorite "Hoka Hey".
The Outer Vibe put together an awesome night of music to introduce their new CD, Full Circle. It was clear fans were having a great time enjoying what this band does best, making people feel good listening to their music.
