The Goodnight Darlings, the New York rock duo comprised of Kat Auster and Wilson Jaramillo, recently completed their new EP All I Ever Wanted – which has all the rock sounds of 1970s-era CBGB with a clean, modern finish. Now, they are getting ready to create their dream video for their track, “Carousel,” and teaming-up with famed-director Ethan Tobman (Madonna, OK Go, Eminem) to create the visuals for the rock 'n' roll love song.
To help fund their “dream music video,” The Goodnight Darlings have created an Indiegogo campaign, which is full of incredible perks for a wide range of contributions. For $25, fans will receive a digital copy of All I Ever Wanted with a handwritten thank you note on limited edition illustrated postcards. Fans who have $100 to give to the project will receive a ton of cool The Goodnight Darlings swag including a signed copy of their EP and a signed limited edition “Carousel” poster. Big spenders can earn an executive producer credit, backstage access at a show and an original song written just for you – all for the price of $10,000. Portions of the contributions are tax-deductible through the group's artistic non-profit, The Field, and they can provide official documentation when needed.
“We are unsigned. So in a way, you and your donations will be our 'label' as we release our new single 'Carousel,'” The Goodnight Darlings stated on Indiegogo. “We are striving to create the boldest possible music video for this true love song, to really launch ourselves into a further reach with listeners – and guess what?! The most talented famous director, Ethan Tobman (Madonna, OK GO) is on board!”
If you've seen The Goodnight Darling's cinematic music video for their single, “Empire Vampire,” then you all ready know the artistry that the duo brings to every aspect of their music. Along with the new addition of Tobman, “Carousel” will reunite the group with producer, Isis Masoud, and stylist, Joey Bevan.
The Goodnight Darlings regularly perform in and around New York City, as well as tour across the country. At a recent show at Bowery Electric, the group paid tribute to Prince by playing a touching rendition of “Purple Rain” to honor the amazing artist. When the “Carousel” video is complete, Kat and Wilson will premiere the final product at a special rock show in NYC.
