Sunny Ozell will be performing in the main stage of The Hotel Cafe on Saturday, March 19 at The Hotel Café in Los Angeles, California. Sunny Ozell is a singer, songwriter and musician. The native of Reno, Nevada learned to play the violin as a child. She is presently based in Brooklyn, New York.
Her professional career began in 1989. Her signature sound is a musical melange of multiples genres including (but not necessarily limited to) Americana, the blues, country, country pop, jazz, soul and pop music. She lists her influences as including such other artists as Gillian Welch, David Rawlings, jazz singer Cassandra Wilson and soul music in general.
Her music resume thus far features one full-length studio album and a single single. The album is titled Take It With Me. The single is named “Git Gone”.
While her premiere platter was mainly cover tunes, her next release will focus on her own original material. To those who are fans of Star Trek: The Next Generation and/or the X-Men motion pictures, here is an added point of interest. Ozell is married to the English film, television and stage actor known as Patrick Stewart.
