Seth Glier teams up with Crystal Bowersox on 'If I Could Change One Thing'
Seth Glier

Earlier this month, Seth Glier released his new album If I Could Change One Thing via MPress Records. The release includes a variety of tracks rich with great songwriting and powerful melodies. The album's latest single, “If I Could Change One Thing,” features a familiar face, and voice, in “American Idol” alum, Crystal Bowersox.

Glier and Bowersox trade-off vocals on this heartbreaking love song about the end of a relationship. The warm tones of their voices play perfectly off each other as they sing of the unchangeable past. The video for the song, features soft shooting and gentle dissolves to enhance the tender melodies. Glier is featured at the piano, as Bowersox somberly sings, “If I didn't have so much pride/Would I still have your love.”

“If I Could Change One Thing” follows “'Love is a Language” as the next single off of Glier's 2015 release. He describes his outlook on the album in a statement on his website. “This new album is so special to me because I feel like it’s the most authentic album I’ve ever made,” Glier explains. “A great album has less to do with a great performance as it does a human one. I set out to make an album of genuine moments where I’m sitting inside of the stuff, not getting out in front of it.”

Glier has taken a more produced, pop-direction on If I Could Change One Thing, departing from his previous acoustic-based recordings. The result is a pleasing blend of singer-songwriting depth and polished studio-work that encourages listeners to dive into his sound. The album also features an array of special appearances from the likes of Pat Matera, Garrison Starr and Daniel Rhine.

In conjunction with the release of If I Could Change One Thing, Glier is about to embark on the second leg of his spring tour, beginning with a show at S.P.A.C.E. in Evanston, IL on April 23. He will continue to travel the country until he plays the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas at the end of May. Glier is also set to appear at the New Bedford Folk Festival this July.
