Reggie Watts drops trailer for new Netflix comedy special
Netflix US & Canada

Reggie Watts is the type of one-of-a-kind comedian whose work is hard – if not impossible – to put into words. That's why the best way to prepare yourself for his upcoming Netflix comedy special “Spatial” – which premieres on the streaming service on Dec. 6 – is by watching its brand new Grindhouse-style trailer.

“Netflix invites you to journey through space and time – discover a secret world where laughter happens at warp speed,” the narrator states at the top of the 90-second clip, as images of the comedian flash across the screen. “I want to tell you a quick story,” Watts says midway through the trailer before transforming his voice into the sound of a cassette tape in fast-forward. Later, he duets with a tap dancer, performs with his band and treats the audience to “a teenager from the '70s” silhouetted costume change. Fellow comedians Rory Scovel and Kate Berlant also appear in the preview.

Just like any Watts' show, “Spatial,” which was filmed live on a soundstage in Los Angeles, is set to be completely unpredictable, original and hilarious. Sketches, short stories and dream sequences are all weaved together into this one comedy experience as the comedian takes the audience on a trip they won't soon forget.

Following the Dec. 6 premiere of “Spatial,” Watts will be performing a handful of shows. He will be appearing at the Fox Theater in Oakland, CA on Dec. 12 and also at The Wilma in Missoula, MT on Dec. 17. Of course, Watts can also be seen nightly on “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” which airs weeknights at 11:37 p.m. on CBS.

Watts currently has two previous stand-up specials to his name, “Why Sh*t So Crazy” and “A 'Live' in Central Park.” He appeared alongside Scott Aukerman on the IFC series “Comedy Bang! Bang!” from 2012-2015 and he teamed-up with Michael Cera, Tim & Eric and Sarah Silverman to create the YouTube comedy collective Jash in 2012. He has also appeared in several films including “Pitch Perfect 2,” “Shut up and Play the Hits” and “The Yes Men Fix the World.”
