Overkill releases video trailer for forthcoming album 'The Grinding Wheel'
Nuclear Blast Records

Sadly, 2016 will go down in history as the year we lost far too many great musicians. But there is also a fun-fact about this calendar year that is greatly understated - and that's how 2016 was basically the year of new thrash metal. With releases from Anthrax to Megadeth, Death Angel to Flotsam & Jetsam, and Testament to Metallica, thrash metal music lover's cup runneth over time and again this year. And thanks to veteran New Jersey metal masters, Overkill, 2017 will be kicking off in the same way as well.

Due out on Feb. 17 via Nuclear Blast Records, The Grinding Wheel is the name of the forthcoming album from these legendary thrashers. With a 36-year history, Overkill is still 'grinding' their way through the music world - and fans couldn't be happier for it. Produced by Overkill themselves and mixed by Andy Sneap of Testament, Exodus, Accept fame, The Grinding Wheel will be Overkill's eighteenth studio release.

In a brand new video trailer, members of Overkill talk a little about choosing the album title, and how it correlates with the cover artwork and the band's long-running method of grinding their way through the past three-plus decades - click here to check that out now. And a lyric video for the song "Our Finest Hour" from the new album is available here
