It’s almost November, so it’s about time for another American Music Awards. And since this is the awards show that doles out statuettes for pop stars and only the most high-profile performers, you can already guess who has the most nominations: Taylor Swift. The singer leads the way with six nominations and looking back at her 2015, it makes sense. Indeed, Swift is tough to look past, but there could be some upsets. Here are a few predictions for the major AMA categories.

Artist of the Year

Luke Bryan

Ariana Grande

Maroon 5

Nicki Minaj

One Direction

Ed Sheeran

Sam Smith

Taylor Swift

Meghan Trainor

The Weeknd

There are a few head-scratchers here, but we can already easily discard some of the nominees. Ariana Grande declared that she hated America earlier this year as she lapped on some unpurchased donuts at a California donut shop. You can’t hate America and win an AMERICAN Music Award. It just wouldn’t make sense.

From there, seeing as fans decide the awards by voting, the winner will come down to who has the most dedicated following. Meghan Trainor and Luke Bryan might have had stellar 2015’s, but their fans pale in comparison to the likes of the Swifties and Directioners, or even Nicki Minaj’s fans. And we can probably also throw out The Weeknd, whose fans are likely too hungover from a hazy weeklong bender to even begin fiddling around with voting for anything. It leaves One Direction and Taylor Swift, and we’re going to go with the safe choice and assuming that the Swifties will come through for their queen.

New Artist of the Year, Presented by Kohl's

Fetty Wap

Sam Hunt

Tove Lo

Walk the Moon

The Weeknd

Despite being five years into his career, The Weeknd could take this one home. His one formidable foe, however, is Fetty Wap. The two dominated the top of the charts this year, and both artists released No. 1 albums. The Weeknd gets the slight edge here though because of his smash hit “I Can’t Feel My Face” that gathered legions of devoted followers who should vote him into AMA glory (after they wake up from that bender).

Song of the Year

Wiz Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth, "See You Again"

Rihanna and Kanye West featuring Paul McCartney, "FourFiveSeconds"

Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars, "Uptown Funk!"

Skrillex and Diplo featuring Justin Bieber, "Where Are U Now"

Taylor Swift featuring Kendrick Lamar, "Bad Blood"

The one simple way to predict this award is to go by YouTube views, giving “Uptown Funk!” the slight nod as it has 1,063,441,462 at the time of writing. What’s astonishing is that “Uptown Funk!” was uploaded to YouTube 10 months ago, while “See You Again” was uploaded six months ago and has nearly caught up to “Uptown Funk!” Right now, “See You Again” has an incredible 1,027,451,593 views. Of course, over a billion people aren’t going to turn out to vote for either of the songs, so it’s possible that “Bad Blood” could win just because of Swift’s more dedicated fans.

Collaboration of the Year, Unleashed by T-Mobile

Wiz Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth, "See You Again"

Rihanna and Kanye West featuring Paul McCartney, "FourFiveSeconds"

Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars, "Uptown Funk!"

Skrillex and Diplo featuring Justin Bieber, "Where Are U Now"

Taylor Swift featuring Kendrick Lamar, "Bad Blood"

The Collaboration of the Year (thanks for unleashing this, T-Mobile) is a bit more of a toss-up. Lost in the Swift mania is the very real fact that Rihanna has throngs of loving fans who could deliver her a couple of AMAs, Justin Bieber too. So to shake things up a bit, we’ll throw Rihanna, Kanye, and Sir Paul a bone and predict that an upset is in the cards.

Check out the rest of the predictions for the other categories below (predicted winner in bold). The 2015 American Music Awards will take place on Sunday, Nov. 22 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
