Paul McCartney adds 5 more dates to U.S. leg of 2014 'Out There' tour

If you’ve been hoping for a chance to see Paul McCartney in concert, your chances may have just improved. On Monday, McCartney announced that he is adding more dates to his U.S. tour, two of which give fans a brand-new opportunity to see Sir Paul play in their city in person this summer.

Three of the new dates for McCartney’s “Out There” tour include stops in Fargo, N.D., Lincoln, Neb., and Kansas City, Mo. The Fargo and Lincoln dates will mark his first-ever solo stops in those cities when he arrives in July, while the Kansas City stop will be his first since 2010. McCartney also confirmed Monday that he will be stopping in Chicago on July 9 and Minneapolis on Aug. 2, the latter of which will feature him as the performer for this year’s annual summer concert at Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins.

So far, concerts scheduled in New Orleans, Louisville, Ky., Albany, N.Y., and Pittsburgh have already sold out. Ticket presales began on Monday for Dallas, Nashville, Lubbock, Atlanta, Jacksonville and Salt Lake City, while tickets for the new dates will go on sale a week from today at 10 a.m. local time. There's a bonus if you happen to be an American Express customer, as card holders will have the opportunity to get their hands on tickets before the general public does. The special window will take place from Thursday, April 24 at 10 a.m. through Sunday, April 27 at 10 p.m. Card holders also got special access for the Dallas, Atlanta, Jacksonville, and Nashville stops.

McCartney, 71, kicked off this year’s “Out There” tour on Saturday night in Montevideo, Uruguay. He was scheduled to perform in Santiago, Chile tonight but the show has been pushed back to Wednesday because a plane carrying equipment did not land on time. Up next are stops in Peru, Ecuador, and Costa Rica, plus concerts in Japan and South Korea (his debut) in May before the U.S. leg kicks off.
