Everything is still a go for this weekend concerning the upcoming Mad Decent Block Party taking place this weekend on Saturday, Aug. 15 at the Russell Industrial Center in Detroit.
Originally, it was announced very early this year that the annual block party of music and festival events would take place at its usual location of The Palace of Auburn Hills on the same date, but something apparently fell through. It was in early May of this year when festival organizers announced that they had canceled their plans with The Palace and instead transferred everything over into the Detroit city limits to hold the block party at the Russell Industrial Center instead.
Along with the change in the venue, there would also be a few organizational changes, as well, that might not bode well for some who had originally bought tickets. Unfortunately, due to the new location at the Russell Industrial Center, those fans 16 years old and younger will no longer be allowed to attend. Refunds are still available for those underage at the original point of purchase. For those still holding onto a ticket for The Palace of Auburn Hills location event, those tickets will be honored this weekend in Detroit.
This year's Mad Decent Block Party in Detroit is being sponsored by Bud Light, presented by AEG Live, React Presents, Elektricity, and The Crofoot, and features an impressive lineup that seems to gather more steam each and every year. This year's performers include names from all over the musical spectrum, including Cashmere Cat, Daktyl, ETC!ETC!, Flosstradamus, Keys N Krates, Party Favor, and Zeds Dead, among others who plan to attend. The show for this weekend will start at the massive Russell Industrial Center at 3 p.m. and will likely go on into the night.
The Russell Industrial Center is not often used as a commercial concert venue, but Mad Decent Block Party organizers clearly wanted to give their show a little credibility by moving it into the city from the suburban area of Auburn Hills and The Palace. Other Mad Decent Block Parties will be happening all over the country this summer and coming autumn months (they began in Atlanta, Georgia on July 31). They will continue until the final sponsored show in Chicago on Saturday, Sept. 26.
Tickets for this weekend's event are still available and can be purchased at the Flavorus.com website. For more information on performers, rules and regulations for the event, and details leading up to the show, please visit the Mad Decent Block Party website here.
