Pop icon La Toya Jackson premiered the music video for her single "Feels Like Love" on Friday (July 25). The glossy clip shows Ms. Jackson busting a move in a swanky club.
"Feels Like Love" is Jackson's first single she has released since the 2009 charity track "Home." She built her own music career on dance music in 1980 with songs like "If You Feel the Funk" and "Night Time Lover" so this latest track puts the 58-year-old singer back in familiar territory. La Toya was shown shooting the music video for "Feels Like Love" on her OWN network show Life with La Toya and the now the glossy clip is finally out.
"Feels Like Love" was written by Jackson, her fiance Jeffré Phillips and famed producer Brandon Howard. Urgent and slinky synths back La Toya as she serenades the dance floor with words of love. "Then we dance / Oh, music but it feels like love," she sings. The single is an elegant dance track and Jackson rises to the occasion with her commanding performance. "Now I want everybody in every country to stand up and do what I say," she adds. "Feels Like Love" feels a lot like a song fit for the return of a dance music icon.
Jackson first premiered the music video for "Feels Like Love" on VEVO before its television screening during an episode of Life with La Toya. She makes her way to a swanky club in a golden dress and later busts a move in a black top and pants. La Toya is flanked by some younger background dancers and she keeps up with the group via fierce hip swivels and armography. The singer pulls all the stops in this glowing comeback clip.
La Toya Jackson's single "Feels Like Love" is now available on iTunes. Season two of Life with La Toya is currently airing on Oprah Winfrey's OWN network. Jackson previously returned to music earlier this year as a featured artist on "I Feel Like Dancin'" with drag superstar RuPaul.
