Los Angeles by way of New Zealand pop singer Kimbra will release her brand new album The Golden Echo next month.To support the upcoming release, she's set to embark on a trek across the United States.
The fall tour will kick off on Monday, October 20th at The Independent in San Francisco, California, and it will have its final stop on Saturday, November 8th at the Brighton Music Hall in Allston, Massachusetts. Joining her on this 12-date trek is Empress Of, which is the solo project of Brooklyn's Lorely Rodriguez. Tickets for the tour go on sale this Friday.
Kimbra will also make a stop at the Life Is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas on Saturday, October 25th and Sunday, October 26th. Other acts set to perform at the festival, which is focused on inspiring people to conquer their fears and chase their dreams, include Kanye West, Outkast, Nahko and Medicine For The People, and a special performance from the Las Vegas Philharmonic Orchestra & The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil. Kimbra burst onto the music scene in the summer of 2011 on Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know", a track which sold over 8 million copies in the United States, earned the duo Grammys for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Record of the Year, and landed them spots on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and Saturday Night Live. That same year, the vocalist dropped her debut album Vows, which debuted at number 14 on the Billboard Top 200 and spawned the singles "Two Way Street", "Settle Down", "Cameo Lover" and "Come Into My Head".
Her sophmore album The Golden Echo will hit stores on August 19th via Warner Bros Records. The album was produced by Kimbra and Rich Costey (Rage Against The Machine, Does It Offend You, Yeah?, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals), and it features contributions from former Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns, Queens Of The Stone Age bassist Michael Shuman, and acclaimed string arranger Van Dyke Parks.
