Clutch are currently on the road and gearing up for their brand new record. Fans can always depend on the Maryland rock band to brighten up their holidays with their annual winter trek. This year is no different.
Today, Clutch dropped dates for their upcoming winter tour with fellow Maryland rockers Lionize and Miami stoner metal outfit Torche. The winter routing kicks off in Cincinnati at Bogarts on December 27 and concludes on January 10 at Emos in Austin, Texas. There is a special New Year's Eve show that will be announced very shortly. Tickets for these shows go on sale to the general public this Friday, but you can purchase presale tickets here by using the username "clutch" and password "pro-rock".
Forming in 1990, Clutch have been heralded as one of the best live bands on the planet. Following the release of their 1993 debut album Transnational Speedway League: Anthems, Anecdotes & Undeniable Truths, the band released their 1995 self-titled album, which has become a staple in stoner rock and is one of their best selling records. The band's last release was 2013's Earth Rocker, which debuted at number 15 on the Billboard Top 200 and has become their highest charting album to date. This past June, the band re-released the album in a three disc deluxe edition. Clutch have been busy this year with appearances at multiple Riot Fests across North America, Australia's Soundwave Festival, Germany's Roadrunners Paradise & Race 61, 17th Annual Rock & Race Festival, and Brazil's Converse Rubber Tracks music festival. The band are currently on the road finishing up their tour with Lionize and Texas stoner rock group American Sharks. After their upcoming winter tour, the band will being recording their new album.
Torche are set to release their upcoming fourth album on Relapse Records. This will be the follow up to their 2012 release Harmonicraft, which landed on Sterogum's top 50 albums of 2012 list. Torche made an appearance at the Maryland Deathfest XII, performing alongside bands such as Swedish death metal act At The Gates, Belgium black metal outfit Enthroned, and Los Angeles thrash metal group Dark Angel.
Lionize released their latest album Jetpack Soundtrack earlier this year on Weathermaker Music, a record label owned by Clutch. The album was co-produced by Machine (Four Year Strong, We Came As Romans, Mindless Self Indulgence) and Clutch's drummer Jean-Paul Gaster at the Machine Stop in Belleville, New Jersey. The band spend the year touring with Clutch and performing on this summer's Vans Warped Tour.
