If you're the type to sleep through brunch on weekends, or perhaps you worked all weekend, this Monday, June 30 is your last chance to enjoy a leisurely brunch at Asian-American and internationally inspired The Queens Kickshaw in Astoria.
From 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., you can order off the weekend and holiday brunch menu and make your Monday a little less terrible.
Brunch specials include a frittata with gruyere, cheddar, ricotta, tomato, red pepper and caramelized onions, as well as sweet options like bread pudding with custard brioche and orange caramel as well as brioche french toast with hard pear cider compote and chili cheese syrup. The gourmet grilled cheeses, stuffed with everything from fresh fruit to kimchi, are also worth a try, but are available on the regular meal menus as well.
Enjoy a brunch cocktail with your Monday treat, like the Michelada, a beer version of a Bloody Mary, or the Agua de Astoria made with sparkling cider and fresh orange juice, a fun take on a mimosa!
The Queens Kickshaw also has spectacular coffee from Counter Culture (including pour-over blends, espresso soda, and cold brew) along with Wifi and plenty of table space, so you can work from the restaurant while extending your weekend relaxation.
The restaurant is run by husband and wife team Ben Sandler and Jennifer Lim, who wanted to create a place and community that reflected their love for the neighborhood, and their passion for good food and drink—which is certainly found here! Ingredients are sourced from Astoria, Long Island, Brooklyn, and other nearby providers, so you know what you're eating here is fresh.
While the brunch menu will still stick around for weekends and summer holidays, The Queens Kickshaw is an awesome place to take a lazy Monday and stuff yourself with some good, from-scratch local cooking.
