Freddie Ravel and his band will perform at Vibrato in Los Angeles, CA March 15, 2015, at 8 p.m. The band will perform songs from Freddie Ravel’s most recent recording called If Music Could Speak. The evening will also celebrate the release of “Blissin’” the third single from the recording. Ravel’s band includes Michael O’Neill on acoustic and electric guitars, cuatro, and vocals, Eric Baines on bass and vocals, Tiki Pasillas on timbales, congas, cajon, drums and vocals, and Freddie Ravel on acoustic grand piano and vocals.
Since first bursting on the contemporary jazz scene, Freddie Ravel has wowed audiences around the world with his unique sound, which seamlessly blends Latin and European cultural influences and effortlessly mixes genres such as jazz, world, rhythm and blues, and hip-hop. Freddie Ravel’s most recent recording If Music Could Speak, serves as a connector through the world’s disparate music scenes due to its assortment of music styles which includes holiday, spoken word, smooth jazz, Latin, and world music. The live recording was created when Ravel accepted several invitations to perform for the Hour of Power television shows that were broadcast worldwide from the famed Crystal Cathedral during 2012 and 2013. If Music Could Speak spawned two major hits for Ravel when the first two singles released from the album--“Call of the Bells” and “Jingle Bells ala Bossa”—landed on Billboard’s #1 Most Added two weeks in a row December 2014. The third single, “Blissin’” will be released to Smooth Jazz radio on March 9, 2015. The song features Earth Wind and Fire bassist Verdine White and the 90-member strong Hour of Power Orchestra and has already garnered critical acclaim as a “song that is uplifting, joyful, spiritual, funky and jazzy, with a vibe that kicks.”
