Billy Bragg will play a milestone London show with his band at Hammersmith Apollo on Thursday 1st May 2014.
Since the release of his internationally acclaimed new album Tooth & Nail, Billy has already been honoured by the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards ’Roots Award’, recognised by the Association of Independent Music
(AIM) with an ‘Outstanding Contribution To Music Award’ and named by the Beard Liberation Front as a contender for their ‘Hirsute Personality of 2013’.
The man they are now calling ‘The Beard of Barking’ has played a string of successful festival performances and sold out shows in 2013 including the intimate Lexington, a special filmed performance at the Union Chapel and the iconic Royal Festival Hall, which sold out a full six months in advance.
This special show at the Hammersmith Apollo will be the culmination of 18 months of touring the world that will have seen him take his new band and beard to Australia, Canada, the US and Europe...several times.
