New York City’s newest and fastest growing independent record label, Deep Root Records, has some big plans for expanding in 2016, with more killer artists, more banging tunes, and more raging shows. But it’s not just NYC where this indie record label has taken root. With well-known artists, such as Francis Mercier, 1WayTKT, Dean Mickoski, POSSE, Cossy, in countries all over the world, and many more coming out with some big tunes this year. 2016 will certainly be a good year for Deep Root Records!
As the snow begins to melt away and New York gears up for summer music festivals and grand openings of nightclubs, Deep Root Records says that they will be prepared to hit the city with all they have. That means more shows paired with some of the biggest DJs and producers in the industry. If last year’s events, that featured artists such as Kygo, Oliver Heldens, Chainsmokers, R3hab, Ansolo, and Thomas Gold, are any indicator to what this year’s events will hold, then I can say we are in for a good treat!
Lucky for us, one of their first shows of the season will feature label head, Francis Mercier, who will be spinning at Marquee on April 1 as part of Robbie Rivera’s “This is My Sound” world tour. Limited Tickets are available at: MarqueeNY.com/dr2
“Being invited to play at Marquee is always a great honor; it means NYC is continuing to look to our artists and our label. Our artists are getting noticed, our label is growing, and we are surely but slowly making strides in consolidating our brand and expanding our clientele. The music industry is notoriously tough, and it can be hard to stand out. We believe that our artists are at their best, when they are free to explore the limits of their creativity and have a team behind them willing to do what it takes to make sure their ideas and vision are heard. So our main goal for this year is to look to sign more exceptional artists that not only challenge the status-quo, but are looking to make a lasting imprint on the Industry.” Says Deep Root Records founder, Ajamu Kambon, of their plans for 2016.
Deep Root Records is quickly becoming one of the youngest and fastest growing record labels in NYC, known for their standout approach to the EDM scene which has otherwise started to stagnate.
Founded by entrepreneur Ajamu Kambon and producer Francis Mercer, Deep Root released a variety of EDM including Deep House, Future House, Techno, Breakbeat, and even Pop and R&B since being founded in 2015. Many of their artists’ records have already topped some of biggest charts on Beatport, Spotify, and iTunes.
