The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival has finally unveiled its fantastic comedy lineup, which includes several no holds barred comedians, musical funnymen and stand-up masters. Chris Hardwick, Reggie Watts and Jeff Ross top the roster of talented comics who will be performing in the Comedy Theatre this June.
Hardwick is making his debut appearance at Bonnaroo, but his encyclopedic knowledge of all things nerd will be a big hit with festival-goers. Watts and Ross are both veterans of the Tennessee festival. Watts has appeared in the Comedy Theatre on several occasions, both as a solo artist and as a part of Comedy Bang! Bang!. In 2010, Ross turned his sharp wit on several brave Bonnaroovians who volunteered to be roasted by the Roastmaster General himself.
Moshe Kasher, Nick Thune and Ralphie May, all returning acts, will also be bringing the funny to the farm, as will Ron Funches, Ian Edwards and Ari Shaffir. Jamie Lee, Cameron Esposito and Natasha Leggero, who recently killed it with her set at the “Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber,” represent the ladies of comedy at this year's Bonnaroo.
Comedy has been a major part of Bonnaroo since the introduction of the Comedy Tent in 2005. Nick Kroll, Aziz Ansari, Marc Maron and Maria Bamford have all performed in the Comedy Theatre in previous year's and Chris Rock actually did a set on the What Stage back in 2008, opening up for Metallica. Last year's impressive comedy lineup included Hannibal Buress, T.J. Miller and “Saturday Night Live” cast members Taran Killam, Sasheer Zamata and Brooks Wheelan.
With the release of the comedy lineup, it seems that Bonnaroo only has one more major announcement to make, that of the SuperJam participants. Last year's Jam showcased an eclectic collection of musicians including Derek Trucks, Chaka Khan and Taj Mahal. 2014 also featured the Skrillex-led Jam, with Robby Krieger, Janelle Monae and Mickey Hart, and the Bluegrass Situation SuperJam hosted by Ed Helms.
Bonnaroo takes place June 11-14 in Manchester, TN. This year's music lineup features Florence + the Machine, My Morning Jacket, Bassnecter and the Alabama Shakes. Headliners for 2015 include Billy Joel, Mumford & Sons and Kendrick Lamar, with Deadmau5 performing a rare late-night set on the What Stage.
