Yuri Shevchuk, front man of DDT, is Russia's answer to Bono and has been at odds with the country’s authorities since his career began in 1980. DDT's music is banned from mainstream TV and radio channels, and Shevchuk is infamous for having had a heated television showdown with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in 2010.That doesn’t prevent them from playing sold out arenas in Russia and abroad. Unplugged was conceived for smaller, more intimate venues to present a harmonious combination of texts and music that creates the impression of one complete drama, its plot held together by visuals created by the band onstage.
