On May 28, Albuquerque’s Sunshine Theater welcomes All That Remains, Devour the Day, Illumina A.D., and Sorry Guero. Doors for this 13+ show open at 7 p.m., with the first band taking the stage at 7: 30 p.m. Entry is only $18.

Formed in 1998, Massachusetts’ All That Remains play metalcore. The band has sold more than 500,000 records in the United States alone. Says vocalist Philip Labonte: “To be flat-out honest, all I want is for people to walk away from our shows or records feeling better. If they’re bummed out, they come to a show, and they leave feeling good, that’s great. I hope someone hears a song and feels even better than they did before it started. That’s who we are.” All that Remains have released seven full-length studio CDs, the latest of which titled The Order of Things, released by Razor & Tie. Members of All That Remains are Philip Labonte on vocals, Mike Martin and Oli Herbert on guitars, Jeanne Sagan on bass, and Jason Costa on drums.

Tennessee’s Devour the Day play a mix of alternative rock and metal. The band’s latest full-length studio CD is titled Time & Pressure, put out by Fat Lady Music.

Albuquerque’s Illumina A.D. play metal. Check out the band’s latest EP, titled Tapestry of Lies, at bandcamp. Illumina AD are Alexander Bane and Kelsey White on guitars, Justin Cavis on drums, Ryan Phillips and Jeska A.D. on vocals, and Jase Roberts on bass. From the band’s Facebook page: “Illumina A.D. is a six-piece metal powerhouse hailing from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Their name, which translates to ‘Light After Death,’ hints at the group’s desire to fuse the brutal with the beautiful. This musical dichotomy is in full effect on their EP Tapestry of Lies and its first single/music video ‘Bleed’.”

Albuquerque’s Sorry Guero play what they call “American Death Groove.” According to the band’s Facebook page, “This is what happens when you get three Mexicans jamming with a Cowboy.” Sorry Guero are Ray Chavez on vocals, Angelo Perea on guitar and backing vocals, Liam Harcus on drums (he’s the guero), Tim Garcia on bass, and Jeremy Ryan on guitar. The band has attracted some local news attention because of a music video for the song “Run from the Swine."

The Sunshine Theater is located in downtown Albuquerque at 120 Central Avenue SW. Get further details by calling 505-764-0249.
