Adelitas Way is a rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada that was formed in 2006. Getaway is the bands fourth studio album and fans have been eagerly waiting for it to come out. This is an 11 track CD that is sure to make any rock fan happy with its hard driving rock sound mixed with just enough melody to make you want to sing along. It also shows the bands sensitive and sexy side.
The band has four members, Rick DeJesus on lead vocals, Trevor Stafford on drums, Robert Zakaryan playing lead guitar and singing backing vocals and Andrew Cushing is on bass and sings backing vocals. The band has seen a few member changes over the years, with the addition of Zakaryan and Cushing added to the line-up.
All of the songs on this album have a great rocking feel. "Bad Reputation" is the first single off the album and Zakaryan plays a hard driving guitar that pairs perfectly with DeJesus' strong and sexy vocals. This is a song the fans will want to listen to over and over.
"Get Away", "Low," " I Get Around," "Filthy Heart" and "Deserve This" are all hard rocking songs that showcase the band's expertise and DeJesus' powerful voice.
"The Good Die Young" is a very moving and emotional song. DeJesus expresses his feelings beautifully and his voice takes on an emotional tone as he sings of how it is to be alone. This quality of expressing emotions in a song reminds me of Seether and Breaking Benjamin.
"Put You in Your Place", "Sometimes You're Meant to Get Used" and "Shame" slow things down a bit adding variety to the album. One of my favorite songs on the album is "Harbor the Fugitive". It starts off with a funky rhythm and makes you want to move and sing along. DeJesus hits alluring high notes that perfectly show off his amazing voice.
Whether you are a new fan or an old fan of Adelitas Way, this is an album you will want in your collection. Simply put, Getaway is just an awesome rock album and I would highly recommend it. Fans can check out all the band's music on iTunes.
